Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm has dropped to the women’s featherweight division. Following accusations from reigning champion Cris Cyborg concerning steroid use, Holm has come forward with a statement.
Holly Holm took a shot at the women’s featherweight title back at UFC 219, ultimately suffering a unanimous decision loss to Cris Cyborg. Cyborg has since accused Holly Holm of using performance enhancing drugs.
Speaking at the UFC 225 Media Day, Holly Holm decided to offer a response to the accusation.
“A lot of why it doesn’t really bother me much is because I sleep well at night knowing that I’ve never taken anything to help me in any sport I’ve been in.” Holm said. “I’m not just talking about MMA.”
“I’ve never taken any kind of performance enhancer in my life.” The fighter later added.
Holly Holm will take on former Invicta FC featherweight champion Megan Anderson at UFC 225. The event will take place June 9 inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois and will be available live on pay-per-view.
