Former WWE star CM Punk made his big debut against Mickey Gall. Gall earned the spot to face the former professional wrestler inside the octagon after putting on a lopsided performance over Mike Jackson.
In Punk’s big debut, Gall put on another lopsided performance and dominantly finished Punk within the first round. Nearly two years later, CM Punk faced off against his fellow 0-1 fighter Mike Jackson at UFC 225.
The two budding mixed martial artists even managed to lock in a spot on the night’s live pay-per-view main card. The fight went the distance, with Jackson ultimately earning a lopsided unanimous decision victory.
Speaking to MMA Fighting, Mickey Gall has since come forward with his thoughts on the fight.
“I was psyched for that fight.” Gall said. “I thought they were going to lay it on the line, really go for it and try to take each other out. I was disappointed in Michael Jackson. I thought he didn’t have the urgency that he should have had.”
“I was a little disappointed in it, to be honest.” Gall later added. For the fighter’s full thoughts, check out the video provided below:
