Olympic Judo Medalist Harrison Follows Rousey’s Footsteps, Wins With Arm Bar In Round 1 Of MMA Debut

Kayla Harrison is a stunningly decorated Judoka that has since turned her attention to the sport of mixed martial arts. Now it would appear that the Olympian is taking a route similar to former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

While Ronda Rousey would go on to earn a bronze medal in Judo within the Olymics. Kayla Harrison has earned two gold medals during her Olympic run.

Since then, much like trailblazing fighter Ronda Rousey, Harrison has decided to try her skills at the sport of MMA. In her MMA debut, Harrison went toe-to-toe with Brittney Elkin at PFL 2.

Within the first round, Harrison managed to earn a dominant submission victory through a nasty armbar that harkened back to the days of Ronda Rousey’s octagon reign. Check it out within the video above.
