Colby Covington put on a victorious performance over the weekend. Following his big victory, the welterweight decided to start his trash-talk over former two-division champion Georges St-Pierre.
Colby Covington went toe-to-toe with former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in the co-main event of UFC 225 on Saturday, June 9. The fighters faced off for the interim welterweight title.
After having gone the distance, Covington ultimately walked away with a unanimous decision victory for the title. In his post-fight interview, Colby Covington went on to challenge former welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
“I’m definitely interested in fighting GSP, that syrup-sucking Canadian.” Covington said. “I’ll bury him where he stands.”
Georges St-Pierre vacated his middleweight title after suffering a debilitating case of colitis.
