UFC Fighters Come Out In Force To Congratulate Rashad Evans On His Career

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans has put on a stunning career within the sport of mixed martial arts. The veteran fighter has since decided to hang up his gloves.

Evans has inspired a new generation of fighters through his storied career of octagon performances. After announcing his retirement on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, the former title holder has been showered with respect from fight fans and fellow fighters alike.

The 1 man I've ever looked up to in this sport… Believe it or not you're the reason that I got into mma when you were fighting on TUF. During the finale my aunt and I watched it together and I remember looking over my shoulder and she was acting like you during the fight, when you threw a punch so did she! That made my night along with you winning the show. @sugarashadevans thank you for the memories on and off of the mat, in the cage, and outside of training. You've inspired many ppl including myself. @sugarashadevans retired today. Congrats on an amazing career my brother. I said recently that one of the best things about my fight career were the relationships and friendship I made along the way and Rashad is among one of the best people That I have met through MMA. Congrats once again my friend and I’m glad we got to share the octagon back in 2007 #respect we were both undefeated at 15-0 at this point, both ultimate fighter winners and both went on to become world champions. Pretty cool.
