UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg and women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes have been negotiating for a possible super fight for quite some time now. Cris Cyborg has since come forward with a new statement.
Cyborg and Nunes first wanted to face each other back at UFC 224, but negotiations quickly fell through. Since then, Nunes has offered to fight Cyborg later this year, perhaps for a Dec. date.
However, Cyborg is adamant that she wants to fight earlier in the year, perhaps in Sept. Since then, Nunes has declined a Sept. fight after claiming that she is currently injured.
Taking to Twitter, Cris Cyborg has since come forward to claim that Amanda Nunes has actually been medically cleared to fight in Sept. Check it out below:
“just received a call from the @UFC @Amanda_Leoa is medically cleared #FREECYBORG #UFC228”
