Tyron Woodley Moves Past Covington In Pursuit Of Real Contender Darren Till

Despite Colby Covington’s position as the interim UFC welterweight champion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has lined up another opponent for reigning title holder Tyron Woodley. Now Woodley has come forward with his thoughts on the matter.

Colby Covington went five rounds with Rafael dos Anjos back at UFC 225 for the interim belt. Since then, Covington has revealed that he needs a moment to rest up and requires a medical procedure for his sinuses.

Rather than allow Covington and Woodley to fight later this year, the UFC has decided to pin Tyron Woodley against Darren Till for UFC 228 on Sept. 8 in Dallas, Texas. Darren Till defeated No. 1 contender Stephen Thompson in his latest match up. However, Till failed to make weight for the bout.

Still, the UFC plans on stripping Colby Covington of his interim belt the moment Till and Woodleys fight begins. Speaking to the UFC Tonight crew, Tyron Woodley has now come forward with his thoughts on the matter. Check it out below.
