After saving the UFC 223 main event, by facing Khabib Nurmagomedov for the vacant UFC lightweight world title… On a day’s notice … “Raging” Al Iaquinta has another top opponent on his mind.
In that UFC 223 main event, “Raging” Al filled in for a medically unfit Max Holloway, who was filling in for a last-minute injured Tony Ferguson, who at the time was the interim lightweight world champion.
Now, after coming up short against Khabib, Al makes it official that he wants to fight Tony Ferguson next.
Ariel Helwani has it:
Just spoke to @ALIAQUINTA. He said he’s finally healthier than he’s been in years.
He wants to fight the recently medically cleared @TonyFergusonXT next. Any card in November (MSG, China, TUF Finale …”)
“Can’t stand that guy,” he said.
