Former UFC women’s featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie earned the inaugural title after defeating former women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm by unanimous decision. The victory, however, drew some controversy, as de Randamie landed power shots illegally after the sound of the bell on multiple occasions during the fight.
De Randamie would go on to be stripped of her title after seemingly choosing to have a surgery done for her hand, rather than defend her title against now reigning champion Cris Cyborg. Now, however, it would appear that de Randamie has landed her next big octagon performance.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has gone to Twitter to officially announce that de Randamie will now be facing former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Raquel Pennington.
The two mixed martial artists will fight at UFC Fight Night 139 on Nov. 10. The event will take place from within the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
