Former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson suffered the end of his record breaking title reign back at UFC 227. Now “Mighty Mouse” has come forward with a few words concerning the matter.
Johnson suffered a split decision loss to Henry Cejudo in the night’s co-main event. Despite Johnson’s longstanding position as a UFC champion, the fighter is seemingly not getting an immediate rematch.
Rather, Henry Cejudo is now targeting a super fight against reigning UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw. Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Demetrious Johnson let his thoughts be known.
“I think it’s good for them. If that’s what they want to do, let them do it, you know? I think I read somewhere TJ said when he was weight-cutting he hit 133, so if he wants to do it, have him do it. I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with it at all. Let them do what they wanna do, dawg. That’s them.”
“I’m not worried about because I know I’m gonna be successful wherever I’m at. Whether it’s me not getting a fair shake…at the end of the day, that’s something my management is gonna have to deal with because I don’t talk to the UFC brass because I can’t hold back my emotions, and I keep it real.”
