Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has not fought inside the octagon for quite some time now. The former title holder has been debilitated by injuries over the past many months, leading to the fighter being unable to make an immediate octagon return.
Cain Velasquez would go on to share photos from a recent experience at professional-wrestling company WWE’s high end performance center, in which the former UFC champion appears to have done some training.
“A huge thanks to Norman Smiley and Johnny Moss for showing me the ropes at the #wweperformancecenter. Your coaching staff and athletes are amazing. Thanks again @wwe.”
“I had a great time over the last couple days getting a few workouts in at the #wweperformancecenter and attending @wwenxt. Thanks to everyone at @wwe for the Invite and first-class treatment. #LuchaLibre”
A report later followed that Cain Velasquez was potentially using the experience at the WWE training gym to gain leverage in his UFC contract negotiations.
Well, it would now appear that the WWE is promoting the former UFC champion on their live NXT broadcast as well as through their official social media. Check it out below.
