Diego Sanchez Not Giving Up On Championship Dreams, Still Thinks UFC Belt Is Destiny

Mixed martial arts veteran Diego Sanchez has been in the sport for quite some time. Winner of the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter, “The Nightmare” is now 27-11 in his illustrious career. While Sanchez has yet to earn a UFC title, the 36-year-old still has his sights set on UFC gold.

Speaking to the UFC, Sanchez has now come forward with his aspirations for the future.

“I’m chasing after my destiny to become the UFC champion. I’m looking to do a Michael Bisping story, but it’s the Diego Sanchez story and it ends differently than the Michael Bisping story because it ends with that belt around my waist and it ends with me giving all the glory to God for all the trials and tribulations (I’ve been through).

“You’re going to see a story that ends triumphant. I don’t care if one person in the world believes – I believe.”

Diego Sanchez is now set to face off against Craig White at UFC 228. The event will take place Sept. 8, live on pay-per-view.
