Uh-Oh! Two Of UFC’s Best Just Missed Weight For Promotion’s Russian Debut Card

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is gearing up for another exciting night of fights. With the official weigh-ins having just taken place however, two of the event’s competitors did not make their marks on the scale.

The highly anticipated fight card for UFC Fight Night 136 is set to take place this Saturday, Sept 15., from within the Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Moscow, Russia. Headlining the UFC’s inaugural Russia event, UFC heavyweights Mark Hunt and Aleksei Oleinik are now set to throw down in a battle for division supremacy.

While the night’s headliners made weight at the recent official weigh-ins, all of the night’s competitors were not so lucky. Bantamweight Jin Soo Son came in heavy at 137 pounds, while lightweight Mairbek Taisumov was heavy at 161 pounds.

Jin Soo Son will pay 20 percent of his fight purse to his opponent. Meanwhile, Mairbek Taisumov will forfeit 40 percent of his fight purse to his opponent on fight night.
