Champ Tyron Woodley Agrees With Ben Askren, Vows To Not Fight Teammate | UFC News

Former ONE welterweight champion Ben Askren has officially been traded to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). That being said, it would appear that the former title holder and the reigning UFC welterweight champion have no interest in facing each other inside the octagon.

Appearing on The MMA Hour, Ben Askren recently claimed that he will never fight teammate Tyron Woodley. Of course, Woodley is the reigning title holder of the UFC’s 170 pound division.

Speaking on TMZ Sports’ The Hollywood Beatdown, Tyron Woodley has since come forward to reveal that he also has no plans to challenge his teammate inside the octagon.

“That’s my homie,” Tyron Woodley said. “My homie, my teammate. He’s my wrestling coach.”

“So my wrestling coach (would be) the person that would train me to fight him? We might as well do a training camp together. Because there’s no other way for me to mimic that style besides to actually go with him.”
