Former ONE welterweight champion Ben Askren has officially been signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Meanwhile, former UFC flyweight title holder Demetrious Johnson is now on the ONE Championship roster. Now UFC President Dana White has come forward with a few words on the recent historic deal.

Two major mixed martial arts promotions have never traded fighters, until now. The UFC recently locked in a deal with ONE Championship to trade Demetrious Johnson for Ben Askren.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, UFC President Dana White has since come forward with a statement concerning the recent trade.
“I feel like he never really got the love and respect he deserved from the fans.” White said, speaking on Demetrious Johnons.
“I don’t know if he was always thrilled being here, so hopefully, he’s a lot happier where he’s headed now.”
The UFC executive then offered a few words on Ben Askren joining the promotion.
“We’re still working on it,” White said, when asked which fighter will welcome Ben Askren inside the octagon. “He’s definitely gonna fight somebody in the Top 5.”
