Former Bellator and former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez has reached the end of his fight contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Rather than immediately renewing with the promotion, Alvarez has decided to test out free agency.
Now ESPN’s Ariel Helwani has come forward to report that the former title holder is now nearing a historic fight contract with eastern promotion ONE Championship.
“Free agent Eddie Alvarez is very close to agreeing to a new multi-fight contract with ONE Championship, multiple sources told ESPN. This would be the biggest FA signing in ONE history.”
