The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has lost yet another competitor for the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 230. With that in mind, here is an updated look at the night’s event.
UFC 230 is set to take place Nov. 3 from within Madison Square Garden in New York. The event will be featured live on pay-per-view.
Tickets for the event actually went on sale before a headliner had been announced for UFC 230. Rather, the fight card was banking on the night’s exciting co-main event match up between Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier before choosing a headliner. However, Poirier backed out of the fight after suffering an injury.
The UFC consequently removed Nate Diaz from the event as well. Sijara Eubanks was then announced to be fighting Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant UFC women’s flyweight title.
However, the UFC has since removed the fight entirely and made a heavyweight title fight between Derrick Lewis and reigning champion Daniel Cormier the headliner for the card. Now, however, the fight card alterations have not ended there.
Former UFC middleweight champions Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman were later made the new co-main event for the card. A new report has since revealed that Luke Rockhold has been pulled from the fight after having suffered an injury.
It is still unclear if the UFC will scrap the fight all together and remove Chris Weidman from the card or if the promotion will find a new opponent for the former champion. Here is an updated look at the UFC 230 fight card in the meantime.
