The UFC recently traded former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson to ONE Championship. Since then, it has been reported that the UFC is looking to dissolve the promotion’s 125 pound division.
While UFC flyweights have been getting cut from the roster, UFC lightweight Lando Vannata recently reached the end of his contract with the promotion. Speaking on MMA on Sirius XM, Vannata has come forward to reveal that he has not renewed his contract with the UFC. Rather, the fighter is currently a free agent.
“Currently, right now, I’m a free agent,”” Vannata said. “That was the last fight of my contract. So I don’t know. We’ll see where the wind takes us. We’ve got a lot of talking to do, a lot of discussing to do, and negotiations, and we’ll see what happens.
