Former ONE welterweight champion Ben Askren is now officially signed to the roster of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). With that in mind, it would appear that the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion has now placed a target fight card and opponent for the former ONE title holder’s big octagon debut.

Ben Askren was recently traded to the UFC in exchange for former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson joining ONE Championship. Now ESPN’s Brett Okamoto has come forward to report that the UFC is now looking to lock down a fight between Ben Askren and former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler.
The bout is being targeted for UFC 233. The event will take place Jan. 26 in Honda Center in Anaheim, California and will be featured live on pay-per-view.
The fight has not yet been made official, but is reportedly currently being negotiated.
