Two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier is just a day away from facing off against talented knockout artist Derrick Lewis. Despite the seeming deficit between Cormier’s wrestling prowess and Lewis’ lack of Olympic level grappling experience, D.C. may be intending to stand and trade with “The Black Beast.”

Lewis and Cormier are set to face off for the UFC heavyweight title on Nov. 3 for the main event of UFC 230. Speaking to UFC on FOX, as seen within the video provided below, Daniel Cormier has revealed that he may simply stand and trade with the talented knockout artist on Saturday night.
“I feel that I can beat Derrick Lewis in a stand up fight. I mean, I don’t need to just take him down. I’m a much better technical striker. I’m much better in the clinch. I just don’t hit as hard as him. That’s the only thing.”
