The city of New Jersey will be a world fighting epicenter once again as the UFC makes its return to the Prudential Center for the eight-time and first since UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Bader back in 2016. The event will be held this Saturday, August 3, and MMAIMPORTS is more than ready to deliver you live UFC results from both preliminary and main cards!
The Preliminary card opens with the battle between the recently signed flyweight prospects Miranda Granger (5-0-0) and Hannah Goldy (2-0-0). Granger is the undefeated CFFC Strawweight Champion and after she knocked Jamie Colleen out in her latest title defense, UFC quickly recognized her potential. On the other side of the Octagon is a talented Goldy who made a strong impression on Dana White on the Contender Series show, and she is making a debut on big the big screen in her third professional fight.
Rd 1 – Both fighters exchange a couple of kicks at the beginning. Granger slowly takes the center and presses forward. Goldy times the counter left and catches Granger. Both fighters are measuring their range. Nice left hand lands for Goldy! She has a lot of power! Another left lands and both fighters start exchanging big shots! Granger clinches and slows the action. They are back in the center. Granger steps in once again but Goldy score with another left. She is looking sharp early. Granger has a hard time timing her attacks. Neither fighter is willing to pull the trigger. Goldy is feeling comfortable outside. Granger explodes with a couple of punches and lands a big left hand! She follows with the clinch against the fence. Granger is looking stronger in the clinch.
Rd 2 – Granger continues with the pressure as Goldy opens up with a couple of kicks. Both fighters are passive on the feat. Granger finally presses forward and lands a quick one-two! She is feeling more confident as Goldy sticks with the kicks. She is constantly attacking the lead leg of Granger. Granger responds with a big right hand which rocks Goldy! Granger presses forward once again but she is missing a lot of punches. Goldy is displaying good head movement. Gold explodes with the left and lands! Granger returns! They are very explosive during the close-range exchanges. Goldy is neutralizing the reach disadvantage with the kicks well. Big kick to the body lands for Granger! Goldy responds with the nasty sidekick to the face as the round ends!
Rd 3 – Granger steps in and lands a nice straight left. Goldy is trying to time the counters. Granger starts mixing her attacks high and low; she is clearly feeling more confident. Goldy is not offering any significant offense. Big leg kick lands for Granger! However, Goldy starts pressing forward and she is controlling the center. Granger returns the center and explodes with a nice left hook! She is looking very unpredictable. Granger marches forward but Goldy capitalizes with a couple of punches. She is constantly looking for a head kick. Granger goes high and partially lands! Goldy shakes it off and continues with the pressure. Now Goldy opens up with a couple of kicks and punches! Granger reacts with a couple of knees against the fence.
