UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley will be stepping into the octagon this Saturday to defend his championship against Stephen Thompson for a second consecutive time. Their first meeting at “UFC 205” in Madison Square Garden resulted in a draw, leaving some fans questioning who truly got the best of who.
In the weeks leading up to this Saturday’s event, Ultimate Fighting Championship released a series of promotional videos that Woodley believes gave Thompson more of a shine than himself. UFC boss Dana White responded to Woodley saying he was a poorly treated champion, saying [via. MMA Junkie]:
“He was resilient. It was that type of a fight … it was a back-and-forth fight. It was an amazing fight. It was a draw. If that’s what you want people to focus on, is what a stud champion you are, then go in there and finish it on Saturday night, and no one will be questioning you whatsoever.”
