It has been a roller coaster Friday in the world of mixed martial arts as one of the biggest events of the year so far has taken a major hit. Less than twenty-four hours before fight night, Khabib Nurmagomedov was forced out of his interim lightweight championship fight with Tony Ferguson.
UFC officials tried their best to find a last minute replacement for Ferguson and called upon names like Nate Diaz and Michael Johnson. However, it seems that plans to keep Ferguson on the card have been scrapped as UFC President Dana White confirmed with TMZ Sports that “El Cucuy” is pulled from the card altogether. White also told TMZ that they will re-book Ferguson for another date.
