It would appear that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is looking to lock down a massive fight between featherweight warriors Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar.
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and UFC featherweight Cub Swanson are both coming off of tough losses to undefeated MMA phenom Brian Ortega. With that in mind, the two mixed martial artists may soon meet inside the octagon.
Cub Swanson’s fight contract ended back in December of 2017, with the fighter electing to test out free agency for a moment. Swanson was then pulled from is No. 4 spot in the official featherweight rankings, before eventually being placed back on the ballot without an official statement.
Now ESPN has reported that Swanson plans to sign a new contract with the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion. Beyond that, the news source claims that the UFC is looking to lock down an exciting match up between Swanson and Edgar for a UFC Fight Night on April 2 in Atlantic City.
