Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz recently revealed that he has come out of retirement. Following fellow former title holder Chuck Liddell’s decision to do the same, the two fighters began voicing an interest in forming a trilogy rematch.
However, it would appear that the fight will not be happening.
“The Iceman” and Ortiz have gone toe-to-toe inside the octagon twice now, with Liddell earning a finish victory over “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” each time. Since then, Liddell has been seen in conversation with Golden Boy Promotion’s Oscar De La Hoya.
The two individuals were speculated to possibly be discussing a possible partnership or a possible Golden Boy MMA promotion. In the end, Tito Ortiz began campaigning for a trilogy rematch against the UFC Hall of Famer.
Taking to Twitter, Ortiz has now revealed that Liddell has allegedly walked away from a multi-million dollar deal. Check it out below:
“.@ChuckLiddell walks away from a multimillion dollar fight? I can’t wait anymore. #GoldenBoyMMA”
