UFC women’s flyweight Paige VanZant has been dealing with a tough injury as of late. That being said, it would appear that the talented mixed martial artist is now medically cleared to compete.
“12 Gauge” broke her arm during her fight at UFC Fight Night 124. The fighter later had surgery for the injury. However, VanZant eventually required a second surgery following complications with the injury.
Now taking to the internet with a new video, as seen above, Paige VanZant has come forward to reveal that she has been medically cleared to fight and that she will be competing against a yet undisclosed opponent on the UFC’s inaugural ESPN broadcast event in January.
“The verdict is I can go for it. I can punch people again – well I’m not able to punch people yet – but in like six weeks I can punch people. But I can start training and working out again and I’m going to be fighting in January.”
“I can officially announce, you heard it here first, that I will be taking a fight on Jan. 18 on the first-ever ESPN card. We’re going to be getting an opponent matched up.”
