Mirko Cro Cop was dealt a two-year suspension by USADA for his latest drug test failure. Now the fighter has come forward to claim that he was offered a similar deal to what was allegedly offered to Jon Jones by the anti-doping agency.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones failed a drug test back at UFC 214. USADA has since issued the fighter a 15-month suspension, a punishment many fighters and fight fans find lenient.
It has since been reported that Jon Jones allegedly provided information to USADA concerning other anti-doping policy violators in order to receive a reduced sentence for his own failed drug test. As reported by Bloody Elbow, Mirko Cro Cop was allegedly given a similar proposition following his failed drug test.
“In the end they offered me to revoke my suspension If I snitch another fighter. I couldn’t believe that they were humiliating me in this matter. I have my own gym, I don’t know what people use and even If I knew it – I wouldn’t tell them. I told them that they can stop me from fighting in UFC, but they will not take my soul. If organization who fights for clean sport is on such a level that they want to blackmail a fighter… Can you get any lower? I wouldn’t do this to my worst enemy. But such are the rules, I’m not mad at anybody. I should have kept quiet. I ended up being more naive than a French maid.”
