Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has had an intense and dynamic experience with the UFC.
In 2009, Lesnar defeated Randy Couture for the heavyweight title, with only two UFC bouts previously under his belt. Shortly after, Lesnar was stricken with a severe case of diverticulitis. An interim belt was forced into play, as Lesnar was sidelined for the serious condition.
After unifying the interim title, the former champion would go on to lose to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121. A year later, Lesnar received a consecutive loss to Alistair Overeem. Lesnar announced his retirement from the sport, following the swift first round defeat.
Returning nearly five years later, Lesnar went on to defeat Mark Hunt at UFC 200. Lesnar’s victory was short lived, as the former champion was suspended by the USADA for failing two drug tests. Clomiphene was found in his system, thereby turning his bout against Hunt into a no contest.
Shortly after the one year USADA suspension, Lesnar retired again.
