Former Bellator Lightweight Champion Will Brooks will be making his return to the octagon this Saturday at “UFC 210” where he will clash with Charles Olivera. Brooks nearly threw down with another opponent, however, and if that fight pulled through Brooks could have been one step closer to a shot at Ultimate Fighting Championship gold.
Brooks revealed that he was offered a bout with former lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis, but the Rufus Sport fighter could not get medically cleared in time for an April fight date:
Brooks says UFC offered him Pettis or Oliveira for this UFC 210 card, but Pettis couldn't get medically cleared. Oliveira fight got made.

Pettis has not fought in the octagon since his loss to Max Holloway at “UFC 206” where he failed to capture the interim featherweight championship. Do you think Pettis will eventually climb his way back to the top of the lightweight division, or is the division too stacked for “Showtime” to shine again?
