“No money no sponsors just a flag and two grenades.”
Ultimate Fighting Championship saw a star emerge before their eyes on April 6, 2013 when Conor McGregor entered the octagon for the first time. McGregor made quick work of the always-dangerous Marcus Brimage, knocking him out cold in just over a minute. In less than four years, McGregor managed to surpass being a relative unknown to one of the most popular athletes in the world, all the while winning two championships in the process.
McGregor took to social media to reflect on his time as the “champ champ” and how far he’s come since his debut with a couple of posts on his social media pages:
“4 years ago I made my UFC debut. Now I am the UFC.”
