Faber Reacts To Being The Latest In UFC Hall-Of-Fame Inductees

Ultimate Fighting Championship finally revealed their plans for 2017’s “International Fight Week”, revealing that the first night of the three-day-extravaganza will honor the newest inductees of the UFC’s Hall of Fame. It was revealed on the “UFC 210” pay-per-view broadcast that “The California Kid” Urijah Faber would be the next inductee.

Faber made a guest appearance on “The MMA Hour” to explain how it all played out: “I was out at the UFC headquarters in Vegas having a meeting and Dana [White] basically stopped me and kind of spilled the beans. So I was definitely surprised and honored at the same time. What a cool honor. Really, to put your heart into a sport and be recognized like that alongside people that you looked up to and watched since you were a kid, it was pretty amazing.”

While there is a list of names that deserve to me in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Hall of Fame, it’s safe to say that Faber’s name was on the top of that list when it came time for company officials to decide who they should induct next.

Faber is one of the most popular fighters to ever step foot inside the octagon and it was all thanks to a following that he cultivated himself away from the UFC. Faber dominated World Extreme Cagefighting before the company was purchased by ZUFFA, forcing most fighters to make the transition to the octagon. Even though Faber spends his time away from the octagon, he’s still there alongside the likes of Cynthia Calvillo, Cody Garbrandt, and other Team Alpha Male stars! Congrats Faber!
