Ultimate Fighting Championship has made their way to the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri for “UFC on FOX 24” where Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson will be defending his title for the eleventh time. His challenger, Wilson Reis, has only lost one of his last six fights and is currently riding a three-fight win streak.
In the co-main event of the evening, Michelle Waterson will be stepping into the octagon opposite of Rose Namajunas for strawweight superiority. Both women can get one fight closer to challenging whoever walks out of “UFC 211” as the UFC Strawweight Champion, and with a decisive enough win at “UFC on FOX 24” both women can make a claim to become challengers.
Johnson has already successfully defended his UFC Flyweight Championship ten times before. Tim Elliott, Henry Cejudo, John Dodson, Kyoji Horiguchi, Chris Cariaso, Ali Bagautinov, Joseph Benavidez and John Moraga have all fallen victim to “Mighty Mouse” since he became champion.
This will not be the first time that Reis received a shot at the championship, however. He was signed on to square off with Johnson at UFC 201 but Johnson was forced out of the fight due to an injury. Reis is coming fresh off a dominant win over Ulka Sasaki that saw him walk away with the unanimous decision victory. Check out the full results for the event below:
