Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos is set to fight heavyweight prospect Francis Ngannou at UFC 215.
Dos Santos is coming off a knockout loss to UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic last month at UFC 211.
Dos Santos will get an opportunity to prove that he is still one of the best heavyweight fighters in the world when he fights Ngannou, who is one of the UFC’s fastest rising stars.
This will be a pivotal fight in the UFC heavyweight division. Dos Santos is currently ranked No. 4 in the official UFC heavyweight rankings, while Ngannou is ranked No. 5.
Ngannou is unbeaten in the UFC. Overall, Ngannou is on a nine-fight win streak with his last five wins coming inside the UFC. All of his wins have come by knockout or submission within the first two rounds.
Ngannou is coming off the biggest win of his MMA career. In January, he knocked out former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski.
UFC 215 will take place Sept. 9 at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
