One of the narratives often surrounding the boxing career of Floyd “Money” Mayweather is he struggles against fighters who fight in a southpaw stance.
After almost two years away from the sport, Mayweather is coming out of retirement to fight UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in a boxing match.
McGregor is known for his knockout power, and being able to finish fights with his left hand.
While some analysts believe McGregor will have a shot against Mayweather because he is left handed, Mayweather actually has a good track record when it comes to fighting southpaw fighters.
In the videos below, you can see Mayweather’s success against left-handed boxers.
McGregor will be making his professional boxing debut when he fights Mayweather next month. The two will fight in a 12-round bout that will be contested at 154 pounds.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Saturday, August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
