UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has nothing but positive things to say about his longtime rival.
On Monday, Jones appeared on Good Morning America and talked about his win at UFC 214.
At UFC 214, Jones knocked out former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier to regain his UFC title.
“I know how important our fight was to him, it was a legacy fight, and I just didn’t want a win or a loss to determine his legacy. I wanted people to see him for the guy that he is outside of the Octagon, I think that’s equally as important. I wanted to shed some light on him and I think it was just,” Jones said.
Jones also talked about his journey to regaining the championship he never lost.
“I’m grateful for the good that came out of it,” Jones said. “I feel like my life gets to be a testimony for other people who are struggling and hopefully my life inspires other people no matter how ugly things get at times.”
