Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is now set to make his return to the octagon. The previously dominant welterweight competitor will now be shifting over to the middleweight division for a shot at the title. In a recent interview, the former champion revealed a little on his weight transition for the upcoming title fight.
Georges St-Pierre is set to face off against reigning UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping at UFC 217 inside the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York on Nov. 4. On the latest edition of The MMA Hour, St-Pierre revealed what his weight has been like.
“When I used to fight at 170 pounds, I was always walking around 185 pounds. Now, when I wake up in the mornings, I’m almost 200 pounds. I’m much bigger than I was.”
The former champion explained that he feels good at his current weight, but admitted that Bisping will likely be the larger fighter.
