Former UFC title challenger Nate Diaz has shared his thoughts about UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s professional boxing debut.
Prior to fighting in his first boxing match, McGregor compared himself to Bruce Lee because he was going to excel at more than one martial art.
On Tuesday, Diaz sent out a message on his Instagram and said Lee would have never lost the way McGregor did.
“He punched himself out the same way he lost in the Ufc there was no learning goin on… #overpromotion bull(expletive) get off the nuts this the (expletive) I’m talking about,” Diaz wrote on Instagram. “Bruce Lee would’ve never lost like that.”
McGregor looked good early in his fight with Mayweather, but as the fight went on, the UFC champion became fatigued. In round 10, Mayweather earned a TKO victory after landing multiple devastating punches.
Diaz and McGregor have fought twice inside the Octagon. In March 2016, Diaz submitted McGregor at UFC 196. In their rematch, at UFC 202, McGregor earned a decision win.
