The UFC returns to the Great White North for a special Sunday UFC Fight Night event in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
In the main event, heavyweight prospect Derrick Lewis will fight his toughest opponent to date when he fights longtime contender Travis Browne.
Before the main card starts, the UFC has produced an undercard full of intriguing matchups. The FOX Sports 1 prelims begin with one of the top middleweight fighters in the UFC as Thiago Santos fights Jack Marshman.
Both fighters were hesitant to engage at the start of the fight. After both fighters landed some punches, Santos forced Marshman against the cage and took him down. Eventually, Marshman worked his way back to his feet but immediately absorbed some punches from Santos. Both fighters were able to land punches and kicks throughout the remainder of the rounds. In the final minute, Marshman dropped Santos with a punch. Santos got back to his feet but continued to take hard punches from Marshman until the round ended.
Santos appeared to have recovered by the start of the second round. Santos started the round landing leg and body kicks at will. Despite absorbing damage, Marshman kept his composure and waited for opportunities to throw punches. Santos eventually through a spinning heel kick to Marshman’s head to end the fight.
Official result:
Thiago Santos def. Jack Marshman by TKO (2:21 Rd 2)
