Fight fans are gathering inside the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif. on Saturday night, Dec. 9, for the latest MMA fight card from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is hosting UFC Fight Night 123 for fight fans, with featherweights Cub Swanson and Brian Ortega going toe-to-toe in the night’s headliner. Now it’s time to take a look at the UFC results for the latest match up to go down on the night’s FS1 featured main card.
Lightweights Scott Holtzman and Darrell Horcher are now throwing down inside the octagon for the Fresno crowd, as the UFC Fight Night 123 main card continues to provide a collection of excellent match ups.
Holtzman pushed the pace, offering lots of punches early in the first round. The fighter went on to pressure Horcher against the fence, but Horcher was able to reverse the position. Still, Holtzman managed to take the fighter down and deal some ground and pound from half-guard.
With a minute left in the round, the fighters made it back to their feet. But, Horcher managed to take Holtzman down before the end of the round.
Early in the second round, Horcher rocked Holtzman with a strong right hand. The fighter began to increase his frequency of striking, as Horcher seemed to be getting comfortable with the fight’s pace. The fighters began to pick up the pace for the duration of the second round, putting on a show for the Fresno crowd.
The final round opened up with Holtzman earning another takedown over his opponent, pummeling Horcher with some brutal striking for much of the first half of the round. After being stood up by the referee, Holtzman managed to get Horcher to the ground once again. Horcher was unable to escape the position by the end of the fight. This one went the distance, with Holtzman seemingly putting on a dominant performance.
