UFC commentator Joe Rogan discusses the UFC lightweight title picture and states that he would not be mad if the UFC stripped Conor McGregor, due to his inactivity.
Conor McGregor has not defended his UFC world title since winning it in 2016. Conor McGregor has not stepped foot inside the Octagon at all in 2017.
Instead, the reigning UFC lighweight champion made a trip to the boxing ring and cashed in for a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The UFC has crowned an interim champion Tony Ferguson in McGregor’s absence, and Joe Rogan discusses the UFC title picture on his MMA show podcast.
In it Rogan stated, “I think Tony Ferguson is the fight [for Conor McGregor]. That’s the fight I want to see now… Until I see what happens with Barboza and Nurmagomedov… If Nurmagomedov smashes Barboza he’s got to be next inline for the title fight.”
“Conor’s not fighting. Conor’s not fighting. I would not be mad at a world fight. If they decided to strip him of his belt, and have Tony vs. Khabb for the undisputed world title. I wouldn’t be mad at that.”
