The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is hosting UFC on FOX 27 inside the Spectrum Center tonight, Jan. 27. The entertaining fight card is going down in Charlotte, N.C. and is currently deep in a series of preliminary matches.
Next up, flyweights Katyln Chookagian and Mara Romero Borella are facing off for division supremacy. The UFC results from the exhilarating match up can be found below.
Chookagian delivered a flurry of jabs to Borella in the initial moments of the first round. However, Borella kicked up the pace in the second half of the round.
Borella began firing off powerful punches and walking down Chookagian. The fighters continued to exchange in the center of the octagon until the final moments of the opening round, but neither competitor managed to dish out any devastating strikes during the exchange.
The pace remained calm in the opening instances of the second round. Chookagian continued to pepper Borella with flurries of jabs. However, the strikes did not appear to be doing much damage to the fighter.
With half of the round in the books, the two mixed martial arts warriors continued to trade in the center of the octagon. In the final moments of the round, Borella began pouring on the pressure and pummeling Chookagian with her punch combinations.
In the final round, Borella began walking down Chookagian. However, Chookagian was able to keep the fighter at a distance with her utilization of the jab.
Borella managed to force Chookagian into the fence in the final two minutes of the fight, dragging Chookagian to the canvas. However, Chookagian quickly made her way back to her feet without taking any significant damage from her opponent.
This one has gone the distance.
