Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson was stripped of his title after pulling out of UFC 223 due to an injury. Consequently, "El Cucuy" has been recuperating on the sidelines for some time now. That being said, Ferguson has now come forward with his thoughts on the future. Ferguson was initially set to face off against Khabib Nurmagomedov for the undisputed UFC lightweight title at UFC 223. However, Ferguson tripped over a cable at a UFC media obligation just six days before the fight. Ferguson gruesomely damaged his knee and was forced to pull out of the fight, making for the fourth time the two fighters have been scheduled to compete against each other but ultimately had their fight cancelled. Ferguson had his interim title stripped, as Nurmagomedov fought against Al Iaquinta for a vacant undisputed belt. Speaking to media, as seen within the video below, Tony Ferguson revealed that he has no interest in another championship belt. Rather, "El Cucuy" wants to make his way into the UFC Hall of Fame. "If I'm getting paid like a champ, then I don't give a f**k about that paperweight." Ferguson said. "I have an Ultimate Fighter trophy and I have a belt to go with it. What comes after that? Give me a trophy. Give me something better. Look at the Hall of Fame, that's something to look out for." https://youtu.be/9LfzHwn-NOo?t1m52s For more MMA news click here.
