Fighting Words! “Rumble” Calls D.C. Nothing But A “Cheerleader!”

Last week, Daniel Cormier took a jab at “Rumble” during a media conference call held on Thursday. Now, Johnson is firing back.

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier are set to face off in an epic title fight rematch at this weekend’s UFC 210.

During the conference call last week, Johnson was asked how he plans to finish Cormier outside of his KO striking. Without a response, Cormier quickly took control of the dead air by giving a prediction of his own.

The following day, Johnson held an interview with FOX Sports and gave his two cents on the situation.

“DC will always talk. I just found out he just talks. I kind of figured it out. He talks just to hear himself talk. I know he wants to be that guy that’s a big time promoter and all this other stuff, but I think he’s his own biggest cheerleader and his worst promoter for sure.

“People don’t believe half the [expletive] he says.” Johnson said.

Though, Johnson did acknowledge what he is going in to face come Saturday night.

“Everyone knows if he gets hit or even if he doesn’t get hit, he’ll go in for the takedown,” Johnson said. “That’s kind of what he’ll do. He’s a wrestler. That’s where his heart is and that’s just the truth. He’s not the most exciting fighter, but what he does gets the job done.

“DC can say whatever he wants to say. That [expletive] don’t bother me.” He said.

UFC 210 goes down April 8 inside the Buffalo, New York KeyBank Center.
