Dana White Announces GSP Will Face Winner Of Woodley vs. Maia

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was initially set to make his return to the mixed martial arts promotion in a middleweight title fight. However, the fighter’s bout against UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping has since been taken off the table.

Now, with St-Pierre over three years removed from the octagon, it has been reported that the former champion will be facing whoever is the welterweight champion upon his return.

In a recent interview with interview with TSN, UFC President Dana White stated “[St-Pierre] says he will fight whoever the 170-pound champion is when he comes back.”

With his recent victory over Jorge Masvidal, welterweight contender Demian Maia has earned a title shot against reigning champion Tyron Woodley.
