UFC Officials Announce Trio Of Great Fights For Upcoming Cards

The UFC has announced two intriguing fights for UFC 216 on Sept. 9, and one fight for UFC on FOX 25.

Former flyweight title challengers will compete as Henry Cejudo fights Wilson Reis.

Cejudo is currently on a two-fight losing streak. He is coming off a split-decision loss to Joseph Benavidez back in December. In his previous fight, he lost a title bout against UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson.

Prior to his two recent losses, Cejudo was undefeated with 10 wins. He had defeated some of the best flyweights in the world including Chris Cariaso, Chico Camus, and Jussier Formiga.

Reis is coming off a submission loss to Johnson in a title fight back in April. Reis is a longtime veteran of the UFC and Bellator MMA. He has notable UFC wins against Scott Jorgenson, Dustin Ortiz, and Hector Sandoval.

Ashlee Evans-Smith will also compete at UFC 216 when she fights Sarah Moras. Evans-Smith is one of the top women’s bantamweight fighters in the UFC, while Moras will be returning to the promotion after a two-year absence.

UFC 216 will take place at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

As for the UFC on FOX 25 fight night, fresh off a highly hyped UFC 212 performance, Brian Kelleher will return against Marlon Vera.

Kelleher got some momentum for himself after an exciting performance in Rio, followed up by an even more impressive post-fight speech where he turned the entire Brazilian arena against him.

UFC on FOX 25 will take place on July 22, from New York.
