Paul Daley and Brennan Ward went toe-to-toe in the co-main event of “Bellator 170: Ortiz vs. Sonnen” in a fight that nobody expected to leave the opening round. Both Daley and Ward throw caution to the wind and throw bombs from the get-go, and that format was no different from what we saw on Saturday night.
Both fighters let their jabs fly freely in the opening round and Daley grazed him with a wild left hook. Ward shot for a takedown just forty seconds into the round and unloaded on Daley as he made his way back to his feet. A left hook from Ward set up another takedown attempt, once again putting Daley on his back. Once Daley got back up to his feet, Daley dished out a flying knee that instantly put an end to the fight.
