After months of talking trash back and forth, Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz finally got to settle their rivalry during Saturday night’s main event at “Bellator 170: Ortiz vs. Sonnen”. Ortiz revealed that his bout with Sonnen would be his last, and he was hoping to go out on top with another win on his record.
Sonnen, the favorite, hoped to steal Ortiz’s momentum by ending “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’s” career with a loss. Unfortunately for Sonnen, he made one critical mistake and it cost him the fight.
Ortiz dove in with his head forward and Sonnen caught it, working for a D’Arce Choke. Ortiz powered out of it and ultimately made his way to full mount where he was able to establish a bit of dominance with his ground and pound. Sonnen gave up his back where Ortiz latched on with a rear naked choke for the win! Sonnen had no choice but to tap out.
