One of Ultimate Fighting Championship’s most stacked divisions just got another addition in an already established contender. Sage Northcutt will be making his return to the lightweight division after two failed trips to welterweight.
Northcutt squared off with Bryan Barberena at “UFC on FOX” in January of last year and suffered the first defeat of his career. He was once again derailed at welterweight when he was dominated by Mickey Gall before making his permanent move to lightweight. Northcutt told MMA Hour:
“You know, obviously, anytime you lose you learn from it. Not that you regret it but it’s a learning experience, and I’ll be back down at [lightweight] now. I’m a natural one-fifty-fiver. So, that’ll be a good weight class for me.”
