Former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has been out of the game for a quick minute, as his most recent bout was in June of last year.
Coming off of a KO loss to middleweight champion Michael Bisping and currently healing from an injured knee, Rockhold was forced to step down from his impending bout against Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
Middleweight champion Michael Bisping seems to think that there is more going on than an injured knee, perhaps an injured mind.
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Bisping said:
“What is Luke Rockhold doing? When did he say he’s going to fight again? What are his plans? I do believe we are now almost in March. That fight was in June. I don’t know what happened there, but I think I took his soul. I don’t think we’ll ever see Luke Rockhold again. I beat the sh*t out of him. I don’t know, I think he’s done. The way he went down, I think so. Why hasn’t he fought again? A lot of time has passed. If that were me, I would’ve been right back in there.”
“The Count” corrected his initial loss to Rockhold by landing a first round KO victory over the former champion at UFC 199 last June.
