Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is in Brooklyn, New York for UFC 208 on Saturday night.
At UFC 208, the UFC will crown their first ever women’s 145-pound champion. Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm will fight Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship in the main event.
Justino is the current Invicta featherweight champion. She has dominated the women’s featherweight division for the past decade. Justino was also the first, and only, woman to hold the Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Championship.
On Saturday, “Cyborg” sent out a message to whoever leaves UFC 208 as the UFC champion.
“Hey guys, I’m here in Brooklyn and I’ve come to check out who is going to win fight tonight, for my belt (at) 145 (pounds),” Justino said. “And whoever is the winner, let’s go champ. I’ll be waiting for you.”
Justino is currently serving a temporary suspension from USADA after testing positive for a banned substance in an out-of-competition test. However, on Friday, UFC President Dana White said there is a good chance Justino will receive a retroactive therapeutic-use exemption due to her testing positive for substances found in medication she takes for medical conditions.
Justino is the obvious choice to fight for the UFC title. She is unbeaten in her last 18 fights. Sixteen of those fights ended in knockout or TKO. “Cyborg” also has seven victories in fights that were for championships.
